Over the years I have been many things and worn many hats.
They have ranged from retail and management to owning my own metal sculpture business and designing websites.
I have always found eventual success in everything I did, but as I experimented with niches and applications I always came back to two things. First, that I really could do anything I wanted, and two the only thing I wanted to do was to help people and businesses to be successful.
There was a very distinct time while I was building websites that I just reflected on what brought me to where I was. It was a profound moment of recognizing the depth of my desire to help and make a difference… a real tangible difference.
I realized that when people experience confidence and hope that they become contagious and they begin to spread the same thing. That is part of why I began designing and building websites.
It was obvious at the time that the traditional world of business was transitioning to a completely new realm of web-based necessity, and I wanted to help make that transition a wonderful and proud experience.
For a time it was great. My clients were more than happy with their websites and when their clients or customers visited the sites they had a great experience, but there was a problem.
Having a wonderful website was great, but it did nothing to increase sales, client lists, or lead lists. My clients were still having to do all of their traditional paid advertising, which was often a crap-shoot as to its success and even more difficult to track.
It was no longer good enough for me just to build beautiful websites.
I had clients that were small companies doing their best to live the American Dream and struggling to stay afloat much less keep up with the big guys and the progress toward an internet-dependent society wasn’t helping matters at all.
Let’s face it, quality marketing and advertising have always been somewhat mystifying to many and considered something usually to be farmed out to companies that really knew what they were doing. Now let’s throw in the online space with its millions of new opportunities, tracking methods, and literally unlimited reach… NOW WHAT???
“Now What” really was the big question. I had to find an answer. I wanted to be the champion for the little guy. I wanted to do my part to help keep the American Dream alive for anyone with the guts to go after it.
And more than that…. I didn’t want to just give them a fighting chance. I wanted to help them get the upper hand.
That is how I ended up learning about high-quality Technical SEO and marketing. And that is how Smart Exposure Marketing was born.
I went in search. And you know, when a heart full of desire goes searching, it will find what it is looking for.
I dove into Technical SEO and digital marketing head first and have never looked back.
I am now able to offer my clients top of the line websites that are designed specifically for their businesses and make them feel proud of their online look but more than that, I now have a way to tie it in with some of the best marketing techniques available.
If my clients already have websites, I can get them the missing piece of the puzzle.
With an average of 65% higher ROI than traditional forms of advertising and marketing, Technical SEO is one of the least understood, most miss-represented, and yet most effective forms of digital marketing available.
With Technical SEO, I can tailor a strategy for my clients that is specific to their needs whether they are an extremely specific local storefront business or an international online retailer. I am able to generate traffic for them that is full of people looking for exactly what they have to offer and already in the frame of mind to use or purchase their product or service.
There is no better traffic than the kind that looks for your business because they need what you have to offer.
So in many ways, my search for the perfect career for me is now complete. I have a love and a passion for staying ahead of the curve and getting massive amounts of highly targeted traffic for my clients.
Now my mission is to help as many people and businesses to take the next step of growth as I possibly can.
I am now able to employ a few people that are equally as passionate as I am about helping dreams come true, and I expect to see our efforts continue to bloom and grow as our clients do as well.
There truly is nothing better than knowing you’re the best at what you do and you can profoundly change lives for the better while you’re at it!!!

Three Easy Tips to Increase Your Social Media Interaction
When were are “away from work” and simply surfing the social media channels, everything seems pretty straight forward. Why it's there. What it does. How you use it.
But it when it comes to using social media for business, all of the sudden, it tends to become this big mystical creature that appears to have a hidden agenda… like… defeating you.
All of the sudden there is a purpose behind your posts. An outcome that you would like to see happen.
We’ve all thrown a few posts out there thinking it sounds good and clever, and surely at least a few people will be “interested” and either contact us or click through to our information landing page… right? Or maybe that’s just me. wink… wink.
So let’s de-mystify the creature, shall we?
First, when you are on your own and not in business mode, why do you get on social media?
To catch up with friends, find out the latest gossip, see what people are up to, and maybe see what fun or informative things people are sharing.
It all comes down to entertainment and information. That’s it.
So when we step back into our business suit, we must keep in mind that social media is for entertainment and information. That’s it.
It’s not a place for business pitches, it’s not a place to throw an obvious hook. There was a brief period of time where some of that worked, but definitely not anymore.
So now what?
It’s actually quite simple. Social media is just that… social. So this is a place to be sociable and informative. Nothing else. It is about building relationships and establishing your credibility in your field with the masses.
So here are 3 things to get you started with your social media posts.
*** Let’s start with the obvious… DON’T BE A SALESPERSON! People will tune you out, un-follow and even block you if you go down that road. So with that in mind…
First, provide value.
Remember what we said, entertainment and information, if you can provide either or both of those you will being to attract attention.
I’m talking about real, relevant value. A great mix is about 50/50.
Put out some inspirational posts like meme’s with inspirational quotes. Remember, things that inspire you will inspire others as well.
Then put out some quality information. It doesn’t matter if you have your own business or if you are an agent for something like insurance. There is some information you just can’t or don’t want to put out there. Sometimes it is proprietary and sometimes it is because the parent company dictates, but don’t let that stop you.
There is a lot of valuable information that you can put out there that will help people out.
As specialists in your field you know there are questions that people should be asking that they don’t even know to ask. Put those out there. For example:
“If you’re looking for X-type of insurance, be sure to look at Y-part of the policy, you don’t want to pay for more than you will need.”
It’s truly that simple. People see little tips like that and they appreciate that you are looking out for them. It may not be conscious, but they recognize it and soon they begin to remember you and your generosity.
Eventually, they will start seeking you out to answer more questions and next thing you know, you have a quality lead.
Second, us a social media multi-platform dashboard.
Using something like Buffer or Hootsuite will make it MUCH easier to manage your social media posting.
It can be frustrating when you start out to come up with enough quality content every day to put on your social media pages, but remembering all of them and then going in to do the posts can be even more frustrating.
Platforms like Buffer enable you to have one central location where you can enter or upload all of your social media posts and have them automatically scheduled and then dripped out over a period of time to your followers.
Many of these platforms use algorithms to determine the most beneficial times to post on each of your platforms and will do so at the appropriate times so you get the best possible reach with each of your posts.
I personally use Buffer because it allows me to post to Google +, Facebook (personal profile as well as business pages) Twitter, LinkedIn (personal and business), and now they have a feature for Instagram as well. They have been the most reliable platform I’ve used yet.
I usually go in a plan enough posts for a few days at a time or up to 2 weeks at a time.
Third, use quality blogs.
If you don’t use blogs, I strongly recommend looking into it. Often, while there is information you don’t want to share on social media or are prohibited from using on social media, you CAN go into more about it on a blog. Again… perhaps a little vaguer, but still in more depth than a simple social media post.
There are a lot of reasons to have a website with a blog on it, including the personal branding and SEO benefits.
Basically, there are a LOT of ways to get traffic and leads and being able to tie the all into one central location… like your company website is the most efficient and effective way to do it. Starting with the fact that you can actually put forms on your site to capture the leads and begin to contact them.
Back to the blog posts… doing a 500 to 1000 word blog post that contains relevant information that will genuinely benefit your readers is a huge way gain respect, build your credibility, build relationships, and ultimately cultivate new clients.
Basically, you just write the post, then post the link in your Buffer account with a friendly invitation os “How to choose the best insurance policy” or “10 things to remember when looking for a new house” or “How to tell when you salesperson is lying.”
Bonus tip... try to put out about 2-3 social media posts per day. It will be enough to establish that you're active and involved without coming across either pushy or desperate with too many posts.
Using theses tips will help you to generate quality targeted leads that are already looking for what you have to offer, and you will have already begun to establish credibility and relationship.
If this article has been at all helpful to you, please share it and spread the word. There is more than enough to go around so let’s help others succeed too!
Thank you!

Get a F!*king Life or Close Your Eyes and Hope For the Best
There are two kinds of people in the world.
There are those who make their dreams come true no matter what they have to go through, sacrifice, or learn to do it. Then there are those who simply choose to close their eyes and hope for the best.
Not all of us are born with our eyes wide open.
Frequently we go through life with our eyes closed because we have bought into the lies of society that tell us what is or isn’t possible, what is or isn’t safe, and what is or isn’t acceptable. So we simply hope for the best knowing that there are a lot of boundaries that seem to be constantly changing and we’re not sure if what we do next will actually help or not.
Yet, in each of us, there is a voice deep inside. One that is crying out to challenge the boundaries, to believe that there is more, that whispers to you that the reality of your desires CAN be real.
Only those who choose to listen… even for a moment… will find the open door to the awakening they are looking for.
It can happen at any age, in any demographic, in any situation.

All of the sudden, you decide to linger ever so briefly just to see if you really are hearing voices, usually because you fear that you may be finally going over the edge.
In that split second, you recognized something that seemed familiar, comforting, exciting, and real. Maybe you didn’t hear the words, but somehow the sound of the voice struck a cord so deep you must stop to listen just one more time.
Wait! There it is…
Can it be true?
All of the sudden something you haven’t felt in far too long grasps hold of your very being so intensely that you feel like you are going to choke.
Yep. That’s it. Hope.
And what’s crazier… the voice of hope is YOURS.
It’s YOUR voice that you hear. Your own voice telling you that you really CAN achieve your dreams. You really CAN be confident in who you are. You really DO have what it takes. You really ARE that talented… intelligent… clever… beautiful… funny… creative… resourceful…
Why do you think it hit you so hard?
There is no voice we listen to more than our own. There is no voice that we believe more than our own. There is no voice that we listen for more than our own.
There is no voice that will tell us more truth about who we are and what we’re capable of than our own!
This is where the rubber meets the road. The moment of decision.
Do you take a chance and listen to the voice or do you move on by closing your eyes again and hoping for the best?
Perhaps the better question is: knowing what you now know, is it even possible to turn back or are you more afraid of coming to the end of your life and wondering “what if?”
Consider this your warning, if you’ve heard the voice, you will only face regret if you turn back.
The road to your dreams isn’t always easy. Becoming who you are deep within can be painful because you must first shed who you’ve become as a result of the mold you were forced into. Then the real you is free to emerge and thrive.
The outcome of the time and effort put into embracing that little voice and discovering all it has to tell you is worth more than you will ever be able to describe. That much is certain.Never has anyone who embarked on this journey regretted it at the end of their life. They have only felt bad for those who would not take it themselves.
With that in mind… know that the learning curve can be reduced if you are willing to seek assistance from those who have gone before you.
We all take our own path and have our own dreams, but there are certain universal truths that apply to the process for all of us that when you understand them can take much of the frustration out of the experience.
Somehow when there is an explanation for things it makes them easier to embrace and get through without fighting to get out and thus getting stuck. Wouldn’t you agree?

How Relevance and Continuity Maximize SEO Results
The constant progression of search engine algorithms tends to make SEO seem like a constant marketing battle. In truth, it is not, at least when it is done correctly in the first place.
It can actually create a very stable foundation for scalable digital marketing growth with a high return on investment. A true technical SEO company can establish this for you.
Industry standards aren’t really “standards”
One of the most common issues with a large portion of the SEO industry is that it tends to focus on the technical aspects that “speak” to the search engines and miss the fact that websites ultimately are for people.
Yes, the websites generally have information for the consumer, but what isn’t seen is all of the stuff that is added or left out in
an effort to gain a favorable review from the search engines. Those efforts that ultimately result in a diminished user experience. Many times the user is left feeling like something is missing or that the site is too complicated to fully gain the information they are looking for.
Occasionally it is simply poor web design unless SEO is involved, then it tends to be the result of the SEO influence.
Fortunately, over time the algorithms continue to evolve in with the consumer in mind.
Despite the conspiracy theories and the nay-sayers, this evolution truly does benefit the end consumer and with the right perspective should make the vendor ecstatic.
As the evolution continues, it does become imperative that there become a synergistic fusion between the technical aspect of SEO and the importance of relevance and continuity.
Google and the other search engines continue to push forward to a rating system that is able to analyze the relevance and continuity of not only a website but also the sites linking to it and out from it.
In recent months we have watched as websites showing more continuity and relevance in their content and backlinks have become significantly stronger in the rankings.
At this point in the game, it does not mean that sites with less relevant continuity are in complete danger, it just means that it is time to ensure that your SEO marketing begins to align with not only what is currently happening but also the direction that SEO and the search engine algorithms are going.
Now is the time to take a look at the complete picture of your website, SEO, and marketing in general.
Anyone who has a quality understanding of Google AdWords knows that ad placement is partially influenced by a rating that Google places on the website associated with those ads. The better the rating, the easier it is to attain better ad placement and frequently at better ad rates.
That rating is based on the websites relevance and continuity to the ads placed. Usually it is primarily based on the landing page, however, the relevance of the entire site is beginning to be of increasing importance.
The Google/AdWords connection is no longer the only place where these types of ratings are taken into consideration.
Right now and as things progress it will be increasingly important that the foundation of a company’s digital footprint be established from the perspective of both relevance and continuity, as a side note, that includes ease of navigation.
Now armed with this knowledge, you have the opportunity to re-structure your digital marketing profile to maximize your opportunity, traffic and ROI long before the “general masses” begin to implement it.
If you would like assistance in creating or revamping your digital marketing portfolio to conform to the relevance/continuity issue, please contact us and we will be glad to help you.

How to Remove the Limits On Your Life
If you want to improve any area of your life permanently, there’s only one way to do it…
You must change your paradigm.

A paradigm is a mental program that has almost exclusive control over our habitual behavior … and almost all of our behavior is habitual.
It controls the way you view yourself, the world and opportunity. It controls how you approach change and challenges. It controls your success and happiness in life. Your paradigm is your autopilot. It’s who you are.
A Paradigm Shift is the only way to bridge the gap between how you’re currently living and how you want to live.
Whether that’s more money, improved relationships, a healthier body or more fulfillment, it’s all possible and completely up to you – the possibilities are endless.
Bob Proctor is a master at showing you how to change your paradigm. He changed his own paradigm back in 1961, and it transformed his life so dramatically, he has been studying paradigms—and how to change them—ever since.
And now, for the first time, Bob will teach the entire process during the LIVE Stream of Paradigm Shift on October 14th-16th.
People have been waiting for Bob to do an event on this topic for decades, so there will be a huge supportive and interactive online community watching this seminar. If you want to improve any area of your life, I encourage you to join us.

Three Days of Your Life You Can’t Afford to Miss
When people want to move ahead, they often think about what they’ll have to give up.
Well, Bob Proctor, a man who has gone from down and out to changing the world, says we should be thinking about what’s coming.
Because what’s coming is what we want…
It’s more money, better health, improved relationships, a new business… whatever we have our heart set on.
Of course, it’s easy to want those things. But it’s not so easy to get them. Unless and until you change the thing that is keeping you from your desires.
I’m talking about your paradigm—the mental program that has almost exclusive control over your habitual behavior.
Bob Proctor is a master at showing you how to change your paradigm. It’s how he changed his own life, and it’s what he has been studying for the past 50+ years. He knows that changing your paradigm is the only way to bridge the gap between how you’re currently living and how you want to live.

How To Tell Where Your Company Ranks in the Search Engines
Understanding your company’s ranking on search engines seems like a pretty straight forward idea, unfortunately, it can be easily confused and easy to misunderstand.
Thankfully there a couple of simple things you can do to find out what your company’s current rank is and then be able to formulate a plan to get where you want to go.
Quality Traffic is King
When it comes to having a website on the internet, the purpose is to attract searchers, clients, customers or donors who are looking for what you have to offer whether it is information or a product. Without any traffic to your website, there is essentially no reason whatsoever for the site to even exist… unless your ego simply needs one to feel complete.
Traffic… or PEOPLE is why we build or pay somebody to build a website and make it available on the internet anyway. And while traffic is important, quality traffic is the desire, heartbeat, and dictator of search engine supremacy and website success.
Let’s face it, while we all love to see our analytics numbers grow as the amount of traffic coming to our site increase, it is far better if the traffic coming to our site is actually seeking out what we have to offer. That means they will actually utilize it whether that is via gaining information, donating, or purchasing.
Just like customers that come through the front door of your business, you would prefer to have people there who are looking for what you have than those that could care less.
WHERE do they come from?
One of the favorite jokes in the Search Engine Optimization community is “Where do you hide a dead body?” Punchline… “On the 3rd page of Google.” And it’s true. The percentage of searchers that actually get beyond page one of the search results much less to page 3 is a fraction of a percent. So if your website is on page 3… it might as well be a dead body.
Website traffic actually comes from 2 places: 1. From the search engines if your website comes up where searchers will see it, and 2. From people who know about your website from word of mouth or traditional paid advertising methods.
What does this mean?
This means that you need to understand what quality search engine optimization is so that your website appears in front of the people who are looking for what you have to offer or you better have a good grasp of the fact that the only way people will know about you is via paid advertising.
Truthfully, both are important in the big picture. They both have very important parts to play.Almost without exception, a higher Return On Investment is achieved once a quality SEO (search engine optimization) standard has already been established on your website at which point the two work together to completely maximize the exposure and performance of traffic to your website.
So what’s the problem?
One of the biggest problems we witness on a regular basis is business owners and managers that INSIST there is nothing wrong with their search engine ranking and that technical SEO will not help their company. Yet while they are insisting, I am looking at their website statistics and seeing the numbers that show me there is little to no traffic to their website and that they only rank for a single search term (keyword) anywhere in the top 3 pages of any of the search engines.
Inevitably that keyword is their company name. That… is exactly where the problem lies.
Branding is an important part of company establishment and growth, however, it often is the sole focus of many business owners and managers.
Therefore they will insist that they have first page or even number one rankings on the search engines and not even realize that unless you’re one of the BIG guys with a completely recognized brand name like Nike, Audi, or Home Depot, the chances of people actually searching for your company name or brand are actually very low.
The average person searches on a much more general level. Like “running shoes”, “cars for sale in my city”, or “hardware store.”
Not everybody recognizes NorthFace if they are looking for “sleeping bags for sale.” Does that make sense?
What does this mean?
This means that the truest measure of a company’s successful ranking on search engines is not for their company name or brand, rather it is based on the search terms or keywords that are relevant to the message or product that they have available.
If you have a bakery specializing in custom cakes, your best website traffic is most likely to come from your site being on the first page of a search engine when somebody is searching for “custom birthday cake” or “cakes for special occasions.” Especially if they have no way of otherwise knowing your company’s name.

If your bakery site is on page 3 and your competitions bakery site is on page 1, who do you think has the better chance of getting the new customer?
So the reality of judging your company’s search engine ranking is not an accurate picture when looking at the ranking of your brand name, rather, it is in considering all of the terms that are relevant to what your site is offering and where your site ranks for those terms.
So before you throw the idea out the door of hiring a quality SEO consultant, consider the current traffic of your website and the quality of that traffic. Find out where your site ranks for the relevant keywords other than your brand name.
If you have any questions about how to find or figure that out, you can use tools like www.semrush.com or www.ahrefs.com, but those can be confusing if you don’t know what you are looking at.
Many SEO companies will gladly perform an SEO site audit for you and let you know what your current standings are, what your potential is, and where to start or how to formulate a plan. We are no different.
If you fill out our Discovery Form, you will receive a complete video analysis of your website and it’s current status completely free. It will include a quality snapshot of the possibilities available as well. Just click here or on the tab above to fill out the form.

High Quality Traffic Without Paying For It
If you have a website, you want traffic.
It’s really that simple.
That’s why you have it after all, right? To get some form of information out there?
Whether you have a business or have a blog there are basically 3 ways to get traffic to your site.
Word of mouth: You or people who know about you spread the word about the information or product available on your
website.Advertising: You pay for online or offline advertising that is designed to drive people to your site to find out more information.
Organic Search: People are online looking for a product, service, or information and your site is listed as a quality and relevant site in respect to the term that was searched for by the searcher.
Seems pretty simple right? Well… yes and no.
While it sounds pretty simple in theory, there are difficulties with each of these. If you have a product or service you are providing or you have monetized your blog with affiliate links, some of the biggest concerns with each of these is ROI (return on investment) and sustainable viability.
Word of mouth is great as it generally provides a pretty good quality visit to your site. With many companies, referrals are their best clients. The biggest problem is that it is a relatively slow way of spreading the word and if you are looking to compete or dominate your market, it will never be a viable source of traffic for your website.
Advertising is obviously great on many levels. It has come so far both online and offline that you can target specific demographics that are most likely to need or want whatever it is that you have to share. The single largest issue with Advertising is that once you stop the ad, the traffic stops as well. There is also the factor that you are advertising to people that may or may not want or need what you have to offer. So for them it is pretty much a “take it or leave it” kind of thing.
Then you have organic search. Organic search has the greatest potential. It can generate large amounts of traffic that are coming to your website with the frame of mind to use or purchase what your are offering because it is what they are already looking for. The biggest problem with organic search is getting your site to the places in the search engines where your potential new clients and followers are located.
What???
Here’s the bottom line, if you search for something on Google (or any of the other search engines), there is a list of results that come up for what you are looking for. So be honest with me, when you search, of what comes up, how often do you even scroll to the bottom of the page before clicking on something? How often do you check out what is on page 2 or 3 of the results?

The statistics show that 97% of searches result in clicks on the first page. That means that only 3% of the searchers ever check out page 2 and of that 3%, only 1% will go past page 2.
These statistics prove the blatant truth that if your website is not on the first page of results for terms that are relevant to what you have to offer, you just aren’t going to see much if any of the traffic you are looking for. And worse… you won’t see the clients or followers either.
So how do you get your site on the first page?
The answer: It takes work and strategy.
If I were to leave this all right here, it might seems kinda hopeless, but let me assure you it’s not.
Organic Search is your best and most viable option for long term high levels of targeted traffic to your website. There is no doubt about that. The problem is getting into the heart of that traffic.
It used to be that there were a few simple strategies that you could implement to get your site noticed and listed on the search engines top results. Fortunately and unfortunately the algorithms that make up those search engines have learned and grown and now have a long list of qualifications a site must achieve in order to be placed in one of the coveted top 10 positions for a search term.
The down side is that you have to have a specialized education to know how to make your site friendly and trusted to the search engines.
The upside is that once everything is in place you have a steadily increasing flow of quality traffic that comes to your site. It also gives your site credibility so when you do decide to augment with paid advertising, you actually get better results.
So how do you make it happen?
Hire a quality technical SEO expert. These are people that literally dedicate their careers to knowing how the search engines work and how to make sites and search engines work well together.

You may automatically get concerned that it is quite expensive. While the price tag for quality search engine optimization may come as a shock at first, when you truly look at the benefits and the ROI, it is far less expensive than any other form of advertising or increasing traffic to your website.
A quality technical SEO expert will be able to demonstrate the possibilities and potential for you to make it clear and understandable.
Some of the most conservative numbers released recently have put quality SEO at an average of 65% higher ROI than any other form of advertising or website traffic increasing strategy.
The bottom line is that while you will pay for the service to get your website fully optimized and parked smack in the middle of the highest flows of traffic possible, it is not an ongoing expense to essentially purchase traffic that may or may not actually make use of what you have to offer like paid advertising.
Your new flow of organic search traffic will continue to yield great results and even improve with the passage of time.
So, if you are truly looking to increase the traffic to your website and want to look into the possibilities of technical SEO, fill out our Discovery Form and we will gladly do a fully analysis of your site and let you know the range of possibilities… for free. Is SEO Still Valuable
The short answer is, yes.
Furthermore, the truth is that it is now more valuable than ever.
The more the internet search engines evolve, the more they understand human search patterns and results needs. The more they understand those things, the more important it is for websites to be able to communicate the relevance of their information in relation to desired search results.
There was a time when SEO was a buzz word that every website had to have “done” and nearly anybody could learn to do it quickly and see results of some kind. Or you could hire someone to do it to your website for a couple hundred bucks and all of the sudden you would see your website marching through the search result ranks right up to page 1.

That was a time when SEO was considerably more simple and the competition less fierce.
That was also a time when not all businesses actually needed a website for their success and if they did have one it was usually an “extra” or something for big companies or bloggers.
As the technological age has progressed, it has become almost mandatory that a company has a website. Many companies aren’t even really considered legitimate until they have a quality functional website as their front door and “open” sign in the digital realm.
It has even come to the point that some companies are launching online before they even open physical locations.
Yes… the internet HAS become that important to companies, society, and the world we live in.
Just one really crazy real life example you may not realize…
You can get on a plane and take a flight to a third world country. Once you begin to tour the country you will find hovels built of sticks and pieces of plastic or tarps. There will be a family of 6 living inside. They will own one or maybe two pots to cook over an open fire pit. Perhaps 2 blankets to sleep on and under, and maybe one change of clothes folded and stacked next to the plastic bucket they use to carry water from the sewage-filled stream 2 miles from their house.
You will see all of those things, and right in the middle of it, you will see two or three of the family members with mobile phones that access the internet. No, I’m not kidding. I knew several families just like this when I lived in Honduras.
They will work for $5 a day hand chopping grass or cleaning houses so that they can afford the refill cards to keep their little phones connected to the world.
They will spend a few hours at a local business that has an electrical outlet outside and pay for access for the purpose of charging their phones or ask their employers if they can plug in while they work.
They do all of this and then spend a couple hours picking food scraps from the dump or new plastic bits for the roof of their “house” and all in the name of being able to “connect” to the world.
So while we sit in our houses, apartments, or even a room that we rent… the bottom line is that in many ways, the internet, and the websites it contains rule the world.
If it is THAT important to the world around us, then it is even more important, as business owners and managers, we understand the statistics of search results and the importance of getting our company website right smack in the middle of the biggest flows of traffic we possibly can.
It now takes something equivalent to a Master’s Degree or higher to understand the full breadth of what is now called Technical SEO and how to use it as a tool to strategically place websites in the best flow of traffic.
Unfortunately, it is not something that is taught in colleges and furthermore requires massive ongoing education and dedication to following the trends, rules, and regulations that govern what it takes to get a website where it needs to be.
Let’s face it, Google changes on an almost daily basis and if Google doesn’t know your website exists, neither will your potential new customers. It’s just that simple.
Back to the question, is SEO still valuable?
With very few exceptions, SEO is not only valuable it is essential to online success.
Statistics show that 97% of online searches result in searchers clicking on first page results and never going past the first page. Of the remaining 3% that makes it past page 1, only about 1% make it past page 3.
What does that mean? It means that if 1000 people search for the term “running shoes,” about 970 of them will click on websites listed on the first page of results. Only about 30 people will look past the first page.
So if your website is about running shoes and it is sitting somewhere on page 3 or later you are basically not getting any of the available traffic for that search term.

One joke that is popular with Technical SEO Experts is that the best place to hide a dead body is on page 3 of Google because NOTHING gets found there.
One of the biggest benefits of have Technical SEO performed on your website is that it puts your site right smack in the middle, not only of the highest traffic flows but of HIGHLY TARGETED traffic flows.
This means that the traffic coming to your site will be the kind of people that are looking for the information, service, or product that you are making available.
If you are selling running shoes, you don’t want your website in front of people who are looking for ballet toes shoes, but in front of runners. Technical SEO does just that. It puts your website in front of the right potential customers and clients.
Search Engine Land recently published an article stating that the importance of technical SEO will continue to grow enough over the next decade (at least) that it will literally be a large and essential part of EVERY company’s budget, and their success.
While this may sound really daunting and perhaps somewhat discouraging, rest assured that there ARE high-quality Technical SEO experts and consultants that know how to get the job done for you.

SEO For Dummies, Tip #1
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process used to establish the quality of relevance for a website for a given search phrase or “keyword.”
Quality SEO vs Zero or Bad SEO can make the difference in companies that make it and those that don’t. Or those that prosper and those that struggle.
The problem lies in the fact that the reality of what SEO is and how it works is something that can be quite complex and is often changing.
Search engine optimization is based on the algorithms the search engines use to “read” and determine how relevant your website is for the keywords for your product or service. Those algorithms are constantly “learning” and improving their ability to “understand” what searchers are looking for and expecting to get as a result.
So when the search engine algorithms are constantly changing, so then, is the face of SEO.
Without going into a lot of boring and possibly confusing history, let’s just say that there is a difference between your “Average SEO” (someone who says they know about sear
ch engine optimization and promises the moon at low prices), and someone to legitimately knows and understands “Technical SEO” (someone who understands how it works and how to implement it into your website to ensure strong and stable results that yield huge ROI).Tip # 1… Know the quality of your backlinks and only use the right ones!
If you are learning or implementing SEO on your own terms, you have probably done some research or heard about the importance of backlinks. Backlinks ARE important, but not all backlinks are created equal.
A simple search on fiverr.com will return a long list of gigs available for sometimes several THOUSAND backlinks for $5 or $10. BEWARE!!!
There was a time when any backlinks were considered good, however, doing something like a fiverr.com gig will now do more harm than good and possibly could get your side de-indexed and essentially “blocked” on the internet altogether. That is VERY BAD!
Google and the other search engines have learned how to recognize what are now known as “spam” type links and the moment they being to link to your site and get detected is the moment your site becomes at risk for being demoted in the search engine ranks or worse.
Quality backlinks are those that come from trusted sites that have relevance to your website. They basically tell the search engines that other sites find your information relevant and that gives your site higher “trust” in the consideration of the search engines. So if your site is receiving tons of backlinks from sites all over the world that have nothing to do with your product or service… BAM… they get tagged as spam!
What are some quality backlinks?
One example of a high-quality backlink would be your local Chamber of Commerce. If your company has a local base, you can usually get a membership with the local Chamber of Commerce and that membership will include a listing in their online directory. Most Chambers will make your company's listing an active link back to your website.
THAT is a high quality back link.
If your company is associated with any organizations that would have listings like the Better Business Bureau, those are good as well.
If your company has any memberships with industry specific organizations like builder’s organizations, art guilds, medical associations or something similar, those listings would be very high-quality backlinks.
Another option is to get links from other websites in a similar or related industry.
If you have a construction company and you do primarily drywall work, you may have links from other construction companies like plumbers or general contractors that recom
mend your company.Or if you are an artist and your art is in a gallery that has a listing for more information that connects to your website.
These are all quality backlinks.
So the while acquiring quality backlinks take some time and effort, they send a very strong signal to the search engines that are then used to give your website a lot of credibility and trust. Two things that are VERY important for stable and high rankings within the search results.
The reward is extremely worth the effort put into gaining the quality links. Both in the amount and the quality of the traffic increase.
So remember… Tip # 1… Know the quality of your backlinks and only use the right ones!

Denver Schools Are A Model Of Good Health
With community funding from the CU Cancer Center and partnerships with other community educators, Denver Schools offer a variety of nutrition and medical programs. The Center for Human Nutrition provides Denver Schools’ 3rd and 4th graders with classes on healthy eating and behaviors. The Denver School Based Health Centers now are present in 7 high schools, 3 middle schools, and 3 elementary schools.
These centers are placed in areas with higher poverty and increased risk. Counseling, pregnancy care, and private health care reach the corners of the Denver Schools District with the greatest need.
These partnerships between Denver Schools and community businesses reach even further than school boundaries. The Colorado Nutrition Network used the collaboration to create an educational program in the Denver Schools community aimed towards at-risk residents. Denver Schools expect these programs to have far reaching effects that will impact concerns like dropout rates and student test scores.
Many reports linking childhood obesity to diseases such as diabetes make the Denver Schools initiative a program watched by many around the country. It is considered a national model and offers resources and assistance to other school districts that wish to implement a similar program.
Denver Schools also benefits from the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center program that may contribute to the future health of students at Denver Schools for years to come. Each year high school students in Denver Schools can apply for one of the Summer Cancer Fellowships Programs to do research and clinic work at the Health Sciences Center. The National Cancer Institute funds this program that benefits many students at Denver Schools each year.
Denver Schools also team with University Hospital to provide middle school children with an opportunity to shadow a hospital employee for a day. While these programs may not address every issue that Denver Schools face, they are positive steps away from raising children who watch TV, play video games and eat junk food to the exclusion of all other activities. Denver Schools are clearly aware of the correlation between household income and poor nutrition. They are one of the few districts in the county that have taken active and effective steps to slowing down and reversing this trend. Teachers, principals, and superintendents nationwide will watch Denver Schools to assess their results and mimic their actions.

PPC vs SEO: Why Search Engine Optimization is the First Key!
The world of Search Engine Optimization is tragically misunderstood by the majority of companies and unfortunately it is greatly misunderstood by internet marketing agencies around the world.
The problem is that search engines are constantly changing the rules of the game in order to better understand what people are searching for, how they search and then deliver for them the most relevant results.
So unless an SEO agency stays up to date with what is going on, they can actually do you more harm then good. Sometimes they even know it!
What do they do? They tell you that SEO can only take you so far and the best thing you can do is some sort of Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising.
WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't get the wrong point from this. There IS a place and a time when PPC advertising WILL do you and your company some good, but it will have it's most significant impact if your site is first completely optimized!
This short video explains why.
